The Logan Acres Community Foundation is excited to announce they have joined forces with Angle’s Nursery and Landscaping and the United Way of Logan County to partner in a unique project to further the mission of the Logan Acres Foundation. This group has been met with the same challenges every group has faced over the last 12 months.
During the past year, it is evident our community has an astounding ability to adapt to challenging situations. Finding ways to stay connected and goal focused, while moving forward, is the theme of everyone on the Logan Acres campus, including the Board Members of the Logan Acres Community Foundation. The first project selected for 2021 has been to update the bathing areas at the Care Center. These spaces will become more relaxing and spa-like. “A bath or shower provides an uplifting morning boost or a great way to relax at the end of the day. The Foundation’s goal is to update and transform these spaces from a place of routine, to places that can be anticipated and enjoyed,” said Laura Haverkos, Campus Marketing Director. Raising money this year involves thinking outside the box and finding new ways to network and reach the community. The Foundation members are currently offering vouchers for one cubic yard of mulch from Angle’s Nursery and Landscaping, in exchange for forty dollars. There is no limit to the number of vouchers a business or individual may purchase. This allows everyone in our community to offer support while obtaining a commodity they may already be purchasing annually. A cubic yard of mulch is a little more than 13 bags, and the more vouchers distributed, the higher the percentage the Foundation will receive for the updates. This opportunity will be available through April 2021 and supporters will have until the end of June to pick-up or schedule their mulch for delivery. “This is a great way to reach the Foundation’s goal, while collaborating with a local business to help Logan Acres Senior Community and the United Way of Logan County,” said one foundation member. Businesses supporting community is a well-known concept in Logan County. This Foundation is comprised of many talented community leaders and business professionals who devote time to making the Logan Acres campus a priority. Foundation Board: President Julie Shrader, Annette Deao, Kyle Springs, Tom Denbow, Martha O’Connor, Wayne Brantley, Connor Kinsey, Jacob Schroeder, Ryan Berry, and Ashley Oakley. To participate in this unique opportunity, please contact one of the Logan Acres Community Board Members listed above or call Laura Haverkos at 937-599-7293. |
